Australian/British soprano Stephanie Lloyd studied at the University of Queensland (UQ) with Shaun Brown and at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) with Margaret Schindler. In 2019 Stephanie graduated from a Master of Arts: Advanced Vocal Studies (Distinction) at the Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV), where she studied with Dennis O'Neill and Nuccia Focile.
At QCGU, Stephanie performed the role of Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro) in the Val Machin scenes and again in its entirety in the 2013 QCGU Opera. She performed as a soloist in Poulenc Stabat Mater and Fauré Requiem with the Brisbane Concert Choir. She performed in a semi-staged production of Bach’s St Matthew Passion for Opera Queensland, as part of the chorus.
After graduating a Master of Music Studies from QCGU (2013), Stephanie relocated to the United Kingdom for 8 years.
In 2014 and 2015 Stephanie worked with visual artist, William Mackrell, on two collaborations: Soprano for Route No.141 and Soprano for Sleep Time App. These collaborations included performances at Olympia London and The William Bennington Gallery.
In 2016 Stephanie was invited to attend the Lisa Gasteen National Opera School in Brisbane (Australia), where she sang in Gala scenes as Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice) and Cupid (Orphée aux enfers). In 2017, she attended Bel Canto in Tuscany, a three-week intensive summer programme led by Giovanni Reggioli. Across two concerts, she presented scenes as Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) and Giulietta (Les Contes d'Hoffmann).
In 2017, Stephanie began studying at the Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV), where she studied with Dennis O’Neill CBE and Nuccia Focile. During her time at WIAV she participated in masterclasses and coaching sessions with coaches Anthony Negus, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, David Gowland, Della Jones, Gareth Morrell, Richard Bonynge, Rosemary Joshua, Ryland Davies, Jane Samuel and Susan Bullock.
Stephanie joined the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus in 2018 for the Summer Festival and Tour. As part of the Glyndebourne Chorus, she performed across 6 different productions including La traviata, Cendrillon, Madama Butterfly, Der Rosenkavalier, Saul & Vanessa. She covered the role of Annina in La traviata and sang the role in La traviata: Behind the Curtain.
In summer 2019, Stephanie joined Garsington Opera for their summer season, covering the role of Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw) and as part of the chorus for The Bartered Bride and Fantasio. She returned to the Glyndebourne Chorus for their 2019 tour production of L'elisir d'amore.
Stephanie performed in a revival of Barry Kosky's Saul as part of the chorus at Théâtre du Châtelet in January 2020. In the summer she was due to return to Glyndebourne for their 2020 Summer Festival as a Nun in Barry Kosky's new production of Dialogues des Carmélites, and as chorus for L'elisir d'amore, Fidelio and The Rake's Progress. Unfortunately, the summer festival was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the summer of 2021, Stephanie returned to work with the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus for a new production of Luisa Miller (Verdi).
She has been a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin Chorus since the 2021/2022 season. In addition, this season at the Deutsche Oper she will perform the as Edelknabe in the revival of Kasper Holten's production of Lohengrin (Wagner), as Suor Osmina in Pınar Karabulut's new production of Il trittico (Puccini) and as First Bridesmaid in the revival of Götz Friedrich’s Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart).
